Velocity Rail Solutions, Inc. has a history dating back to 1996. We have long-term fixed contracts with Class I Railroads to fuel and service locomotives using specialized equipment. Our dedicated trucks operate 24/7, 365 days a year, in all types of weather. Our work is not seasonal, ensuring consistent pay you can count on!
Highlights:
- Compensation:
- $1,610/Weekly (60 hours/week)
- $1,196/Weekly (48 hours/every 3rd week)
- Schedule:
- Week 1 (60 Hours):
- Saturday and Sunday: 4 AM to 4 PM (Days)
- Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday: 4 PM to 4 AM (Overnights)
- Thursday and Friday: Rest Days
- Week 2 (60 Hours):
- Saturday and Sunday: 4 AM to 4 PM (Days)
- Monday and Tuesday: 4 PM to 4 AM (Overnights)
- Wednesday and Thursday: Rest Days
- Friday: 4 AM to 4 PM (Day Shift)
- Week 3 (48 Hours):
- Saturday and Sunday: 4 AM to 4 PM (Days)
- Monday and Tuesday: 4 PM to 4 AM (Overnights)
- Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: Rest Days
- Requirements: Must have a Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements. Valid TWIC card required.
- Pay Frequency: Paid weekly
- Home Time: Home daily
- Experience: Previous experience hauling Hazmat is NOT required

Our benefits also include hourly pay with built-in overtime, paid training, and designated paid holidays. Vacation time accrues from your first day, including during training, but can only be used after 90 days.
Responsibilities / Job Duties: Velocity Rail Solutions drivers are responsible for loading, transporting, and transferring red-dyed diesel into trains and/or storage tanks on an ‘on-call’ basis for the Railroad. On-the-job training will be provided for qualified individuals. The Railroad maintains dedicated trucks and drivers on duty 24/7/365, including nights, weekends, and holidays, ensuring consistent paychecks. You will be paid for a full 12 hours each shift, including breaks, lunches, and any wait time for dispatches. You will be paid for all ‘on-duty’ hours, regardless of the specific task you are dispatched for.
Requirements/Qualifications:
· Licenses and Endorsements:
· Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with hazmat and tanker endorsements. Valid TWIC card.
· Location:
· Must reside in or around Glen Burnie/Curtis Bay area.
· Background and Compliance:
· Must be able to clear all background checks required by the company, customer, and government
· Must not be prohibited from performing safety-sensitive functions as per the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
· Must have completed all required steps as mandated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) in the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
· Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations
· Must pass a road test in a tractor trailer.
· Responsible for maintaining all required licenses and certifications
· Possess a valid DOT medical card
· Comply with DOT regulations, including annual MVR checks and certification of violations
· Skills and Abilities:
· Must be able to read, write, and understand English
· Moderate computer skills required
· Must be reliable and dependable
· Must know when to ask for help
· Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
· Physical Requirements:
· Able to consistently bend, stoop, kneel, and climb on and off elevated surfaces
· May have to walk long distances on paved, unmaintained, or uneven surfaces
· Able to climb in and out of a truck cab multiple times per shift and climb a ladder or steps 10 or more times per day
· Ability to drive and work outside in adverse weather conditions
· Willing to work with non-hazardous liquid and dry bulk materials
· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently
