Jennifer Hedrick, CAE, has been appointed the incoming president and chief executive officer of Women In Trucking Association (WIT). She will strive to empower women working in the trucking industry through her work with WIT’s board of directors and staff. Her leadership will continue to support WIT’s mission by motivating women’s employment within this industry as well as recognizing their accomplishments while actively minimizing obstacles they may face.
Hedrick is set to assume the President and CEO role of Women in Trucking (WIT) on March 16, succeeding Ellen Voie, CAE, who has served in the role since establishing WIT in 2007. Voie passes her leadership torch over to Hedrick promising a bright future for this influential organization aiming at more women joining the trucking industry.
“Through WIT’s mission we have created a community of 8,000 members to advance gender diversity in a male-populated industry,” said Voie. “I’m thrilled to have an association executive like Jennifer Hedrick who will continue to advance the critical mission of the association I started 16 years ago.”
With 17 years of leadership in the association sector and a prestigious accreditation from the American Society of Association Executives, Hedrick brings a wealth of experience to any team. Her time leading the National Industrial Transportation League saw her advocate for beneficial changes throughout freight transportation networks, improving efficiency across highway, rail and ocean-based shipping services over five impactful years.
Henrick’s initial focus will be on becoming familiar with the members and key stakeholders of the association. According to Rachel Christensen, WIT chair and vice president of operations for J.B. Hunt Transport, Hedrick already has begun collaborating with WIT’s board of directors on future opportunities for the association during a strategy meeting in Dallas recently.
“With Jennifer’s leadership, WIT will continue its central mission to advance the importance of gender diversity in transportation,” said Christensen.
