Amazon Expands in Kansas with New Delivery Station in Bel Aire

Amazon has revealed plans to launch its newest last-mile delivery station on a 20-acre property in Bel Aire, Kansas. This will be the company’s third facility in the Greater Wichita Metro Area, underscoring its ongoing commitment to serving customers efficiently in the region. The project is projected to create roughly 100 direct and indirect jobs, benefiting both Amazon customers and the local economy.

Jason Vangalis, Amazon’s economic development manager, shared insights into the decision, stating, “Bel Aire’s strategic location with direct access to major highways and a reliable workforce made it an ideal choice for this newest last-mile facility. Since opening our first area facility in 2020, we’re excited to grow our footprint in Kansas.”

The facility is slated to span 176,000 square feet, with construction anticipated to be completed by late 2025. Last-mile delivery stations play a crucial role in Amazon’s logistics chain, streamlining the final stage of package delivery. This expansion aims to enhance delivery speeds for urban customers while also bringing faster services to rural communities.

The new station will be located within Sunflower Commerce Park, a sprawling 800-acre area designed for manufacturing and light industrial development. Sunflower Commerce Park boasts excellent infrastructure and direct access to transportation networks, making it the perfect setting for Amazon’s expanding presence in Kansas.
