Tuesday, March 7 saw the destruction of TA Express near Interstate 84 in Biggs Junction, Oregon. Firefighters were alerted to the blaze around 5 a.m., with witnesses claiming they could see dark smoke billowing from a dryer at this point. At the time of this writing, investigators have not been able to pinpoint the cause. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The TA Express was built in 2019 and included 40 truck parking spots, a driver’s lounge, and a CAT Scale. It also housed numerous other amenities and restaurants such as Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Krispy Krunchy Chicken and an Indian restaurant.
The Biggs Junction location is about 103 miles east of Portland.
For truckers needing parking in the area, Travel Centers of America suggests drivers use their store at the I-84 Exit 17 in Troutdale, Oregon. This location boasts an impressive 240 truck parking spaces.
