Around 3:25 a.m. on Monday morning, reports came in of a crash on I-5 in Bakersfield California. The Trucker reports that a driver of a “2014 Freightliner in the northbound lanes veered across the road for ‘an unknown reason’ and struck a 2009 Kenworth that was headed south in the southbound lanes”. The crash killed both drivers. The drivers were a 44-year-old man from Montclair, California, and a 55-year-old man from Healdsburg, California.
After the crash, the highway was closed to properly handle the scene and deal with the spilled cargo from the crash. The names of the drivers have not yet been released.
