Job Description

We are now hiring for a full time FedEx Ground manager in the Huntsville Alabama area! This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of package delivery services within a singular FedEx Ground terminal. The Manager will have a solid daily presence at the FedEx Ground terminal and build and maintain strong, positive working relationships with all FedEx employees.

The right candidate will be adaptable with a strong work ethic. In addition, this position requires the ability to problem solve and lead a team of 20-30 drivers. Must have the ability to perform routine administrative tasks to comply with the needs of the home office regarding fleet maintenance, route planning, compliance, payroll, and other reporting. Previous FedEx/UPS/Amazon management experience is required.

Salary: $45,000-52,000 year with potential for performance bonus

**This is not a Monday-Friday, 9 AM-5 PM position. It will require some long-hour days and weekend work, but it will also be flexible with your schedule when circumstances allow it.

Manager Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older (for insurance purposes)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be willing to submit to a background check
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and DOT physical (both paid for by FedEx)
  • Physically willing, ready, and able to drive a P-1000 sized vehicle (Large Step Van) and safely deliver packages to both residential and commercial recipients
  • Previous FedEx experience preferred

Day to Day Operations:

  • Responsible for ensuring all daily P&D routes are staffed, trucks are operational, and the routes are generating sufficient revenue.
  • Responsible for recording and reporting timesheets for payroll
  • Create and adjust routes in DRO (dynamic route optimization) system
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repairs on equipment at regular intervals to avoid unnecessary breakdowns
  • Responsible for the training of every new driver to ensure compliance with all company policies and regulations
  • Ensure Driver compliance with daily duties regarding paperwork, Hours of Service compliance, Pre-Trip/Post-Trip inspection
  • Create a culture of safety and ensures each driver is up to date on all monthly safety training
  • Coordinate with FedEx Ground staff to execute a plan that maximizes the profitability of the company
  • Ensure that company is providing quality service to FedEx Ground with available drivers and operable equipment to deliver packages
  • Manage budget and expenses for a designated terminal/location
  • Work closely with Fleet Manager to ensure the fleet is operating and maintenance is routinely performed on all trucks
  • Manage performance of all Drivers assigned to terminal/location
  • Plan for contingency – establishing relationships with part-time drivers as well as other FedEx contractors in the building to help one another out in times of need
  • Serve as a contingency resource and deliver packages in the event of driver call-offs, driver shortages, heavy volume, or any other unforeseen circumstances

Pay: $45,000.00 – $52,000.00 per year
