SURRY COUNTY, N.C. — Logs fell from a timber truck in Surry County, N.C. on US-601 on Wednesday morning. Troopers stated the timber truck was heading north and came into a right-hand curve, went left of center & overturned losing some of its load.
According to troopers April Hill, 42 and a child died after the car they were traveling in was struck by logs.
The driver of the timber truck has been identified as Jeffrey McManus, 44 from Dobson. Highway patrol has indicated that charges are pending for him.
