Robert Coats, a truck driver from Stow, Ohio was recently recognized as a Highway Angel for rescuing a woman from her burning vehicle. On March 24, Coats was traveling on I-65 when he saw smoke from a wreck ahead of him involving two commercial vehicles and a car, which was burning with a woman trapped inside. He used his extinguisher to put out the flames enough to pull the occupant from her car. After she was freed, the car exploded.
Kentucky State Police called Robert Coats “a tribute to his profession.”
