The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) is dedicated to creating and supporting success for those in the truck driving industry. Their Professional Drivers of the Year program just experienced several updates that better support the truck driving community, as reported by The Trucker.
For the Professional Drivers of the Year program, the TCA seeks to identity drivers who have had a significant positive influence on the industry, their driver peers and colleagues, their larger community, and the company that they drive for. The TCA considers actions taken only in the last year when selecting drivers for the following year.
Along with having made a genuine and constructive impact on those around them, nominees for the TCA Professional Drivers of the Year should have exemplary safety records, be role models for others in the industry, and have interesting and uplifting stories that have influenced their own lives and the truck driving industry.
The updates carried out by the TCA in the past year include a remodeled nomination process which makes the nomination process easier to navigate. Any number of drivers can be nominated, but the TCA did expand the number of possible winners from two to five. The final update made by the TCA is a prize pool that was expanded to $100,000.
Nominations for the TCA’s Professional Drivers of the Year are open until Dec. 7, followed with winners being formally recognized between March 4 and 7, 2023 during the TCA’s Annual Convention.
