Truck driver killed in an alleged hit-and-run at a TA Travel Center
Crash happened Friday night.
ROCKBRIDGE Co. VA, – A Richlands man was killed in the parking lot of Lee Hi Travel Plaza Friday evening, Oct. 26.
At about 9:20 p.m. Keith Alan Kinder, 59, was walking around a parked vehicle when he stepped into the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer, according to a news release from state police.
According to a Truck Driver’s U.S.A fan,Kinder, was also a truck driver. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Virginia State Police said they are investigating a possible hit-and-run after the tractor-trailer did not stop and continued on its way out of the parking lot.

After reviewing video footage from the Truck Stop, state police were able to identify the vehicle and the trucking company it is associated with. Police put out a ‘be on the look out’ for the truck matching the description. The truck was spotted in High Point, North Carolina.
The news release stated that the State Police are working with North Carolina officials to determine if the truck that was spotted was involved in the fatal hit-and-run.
The incident is still under investigation.
