Firefighters in Georgia came to the aid of an unlikely individual – a trucker’s four-legged travel companion. The pooch had become trapped 12 feet below ground after falling into a storm drain. Fortunately, first responders were successful in rescuing her from this ordeal and returning her safely to her owner.
While exploring her surroundings during a routine stop, Trixie, an over-the-road driving companion, found herself in a bit of trouble. After stepping into the wrong spot, the small dog fell 12 feet into a storm sewer, much to the horror of her trucker dad.
Cobb County Fire Rescue was called to the scene to help the canine. The fire rescue crew first dropped in a n air monitoring device then fashioned a rope system to lower a crew member into the sewer. The dog was so happy for the assist she ran straight into the arms of the firefighter.
A short time later, the firefighter and the dog were both hoisted to safety and Trixie was reunited with her very relived owner.
After the ordeal, the pup was a little worse for wear, but after a quick trip to the vet, it’s determined that she’ll make a full recovery.
