The Ohio Department of Transportation has been working diligently to convert unused weigh stations to truck parking areas. With the recent addition of new truck parking facilities along tow interstates, this makes 10 total weigh stations that have been converted.
The new truck parking is now open in Medina County on Interstate 76 eastbound between SR 3 and SR 57 and in Ashland County on Interstate 71 southbound between SR 539 and U.S. 250.
These areas each feature spaces for about 18 trucks in addition to any parking available on the entrance or exit ramp shoulders. The areas offer parking only, and one should note that there are no restrooms available on site.
